About Ant

Anthony Fanshawe grew up in Boscastle and started carving at a young age; learning about wood and stone from a local sculptor. North Cornwall's landscapes; its cliffs, sea and moor infuse his work.

At art college in London, Ant studied restoration, carving in wood and stone, lettering, letter cutting and gilding, explored sculpture and life drawing, modelling, and casting in a range of materials including bronze. After leaving college, he has worked for various sculptors in London, building up a range of experience in large architectural projects including heraldry for universities and law courts, as well as individual commissions.

Since moving back to Cornwall, he has worked for various clients including the National Trust. Ant has also collaborated with other artists on projects further afield such as the Scottish Parliament, Millennium Dome, and even a bank in Bermuda.
